THE STORY WITHIN AND BEYOND
SEE LAB, DEN HAAG
2.2.- 1.6.2018.
The Story Within and Beyond examines the manifestation and the potential of a “narrative” from various perspectives and throughout different media. It took place from February until June and brought four duo exhibitions and two performances of mainly Hague young emerging artists. It's See Lab's aim to offer the new project space to artists of different disciplines so they can experiment and create new works or develop the existing ones in relation to the See Lab exhibition space.

TO THE SEA, A LAKE OR ANOTHER RIVER
SARA RAJAEI, NEVA LUKIĆ
GALLERY 60-90-60
ZAGREB
November 2017
Neva Lukić, author and curator, graduated in Zagreb before going off to The Netherlads to continue her education. She works there as an art historian and in 2011 she meets a video artist, Sara Rajaei, who came from Iran to continue her education in The Netherlands as well. The exhibition presents three videos as the result of the collaboration between Lukić and Rajaei; a short film named The Motel in the Well (2016), and two video installations, The slightest trace of something (2017) and A composition in blue, red and other colors (2017).

HEADING FOR THE PURPLE PLANET
ANNABELLE SCHATTEMAN
ST. AMANDUS CHAPEL, CAMPO SANTO
GHENT, BELGIUM
June 2017
Heading for the purple planet. The new series of anthropomorphic, mostly female or sexless sculptures by Annabelle Schatteman. The artist continues her sculptural work inspired by female iconography and keeps experimenting with the combinations of different materials, at the same time giving her work an unfinished note what makes her work sketchy like. She neither hesitates to give to materials symbolic meanings... So that she could tell her vision about human and female strength and fragility in details, the story about the masked and unprotected humanity. About the continuation of life.

FROM THE UNKNOWN DESTINATION TO THE REST OF THE WORLD
SARA RAJAEI
DIOCLETIAN PALACE BASEMENTS
SPLIT
June 2017
The exhibition in Diocletian’s Basements comprises four different works, in three variants of the same medium, depicting four different corners of the world and mentalities. We are talking about a recent video installation In the Gaze of Panoptes (2016), a short film The Motel in the Well (2016), a video installation Objects of Purely Sentimental Value (2010), and a short biopic Shahrzad (2009). Each of the four works was inspired by the stories and people from different countries, Norway, Croatia/Bosnia and Herzegovina, Holland, Iran… However, each of the works tends to be universal in its own right. That is where the exhibition title From an Unknown Destination to the Rest of the World… comes from.
